Martin and Olivia Olson are an actual father and daughter who play an evil father and daughter on Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time. This book is great. It provides a lot of back story to the Adventure Time universe, is written wonderfully, and is illustrated beautifully. It lost a star for both books being stuck together. It's really heavy, and my kid wants to carry the Enchiridion around all the time. If it were two books, I wouldn't be scared she was gonna break her toes everytime she drops it. That aside, this book really is great and would awesome for any Adventure Time fan.

This book is great. This is the Enchiridion from Adventure Time and Marceline the Vampires Scrapbook. The book was bigger than I thought it would be which is a great surprise. This book is about double the size of the Adventure Time Encyclopedia (which this book is a great companion to) and I like that half the book is the Enchiridion and the other half (just flip the book over) is Marceline’s Scrap book. Both halves of the book get a good number of pages to impress and expand on the ever growing world of Ooo.I really like all the detail, you can tell this was made with love and fans of the show (Written by Martin and Olivia Olson who both play characters on Adventure Time, Olivia plays Marceline). There’s cool little things like taped down pieces, tons of little scribbles and sketches. I really like the parchment style scrolls and spell sections in the Enchiridion and the hand drawn sketches in the scrapbook. This book is really great for the price (under $20) this is a great book for any fan of Adventure Time, and can really be appreciated by anyone of any age. I didn’t want to show too many pictures and spoil the good stuff, lots of good jokes and Easter Eggs inside the book(s). The Adventure Time Enchiridion and Marcy’s Super Secret Scrapbook is mathematical and you have to get it, FULLY RECOMMENDED.

Before I had this book, I didn't know what it took to be hero. Now I know I'll need a sword at least, and a healthy distaste for wizards.Beware though, this book is not some novelty item. It is long and detailed with a healthy backstory of the Adventure Time universe. My daughter loves Marceline, so she got a big kick out of it.

The Enchiridion half: It has all the humor of the show with a few nods to the overall mythology of the show thrown in. It doesn't give you insight into individual characters, but you have the sense it was written from the perspective of someone important from the AT universe long ago. Fans will love the scrap book half of the book because it gives you insight into Simon before he wore the crown, his time in the apocalypse with Marceline struggling against the crown's influence, Marceline's adolescence, and her time spent vampire hunting as seen on the show.

Great great book! I am a HUGE Adventure Time fan and this book was simply fantastic. It's fun and helps you visualize what you'd be like as a hero in the land of Ooo :P And don't be bummed out about the whole two books in one thing. It's done in a way that isn't immensely cheesy and has a cute story behind it. Both books are beautiful with wonderful art and great characters. My only problem would be the inconsistency with Shwabl's coat color in the show/book and a little more in the hero section wouldn't have hurt :P

I'm a huge Adventure Time fan so as soon as I heard that fans could pre-order this book I jumped on it. The book is wonderful just as a decoration by itself added to the pictures and information on the inside it's greatness. It shipped fast and nothing is cosmetically wrong with it (which is a problem I've had in the past with AT merchandise).This is an amazing addition to any fans collection

Simon and Marcy are two of my favorite characters and this book is just filled with their stories from after the war. I love this book and the Enchiridion is a great bonus for lore.

I was amazed by the size and quality of this book. The art is fantastic and a real treat for any fan of Adventure Time. It has so much extra information about the characters, stories and world of Adventure Time. My son is a big fan and couldn't wait to read it.

Just as awesome as expected. :DReally good quality and the binding looks very nice under the dust cover.Nicely written. I'm already a fan of Marceline and Ice King's story, it clears up some stuff and is a great addition to their back-story. The Enchiridion section I have not fully read, only skimmed, but seems clever and funny. Really good gift for Adventure Time fans!

I teach elementary school age children and am using this for my class activities. It is loaded with goodies. For homeschoolers, only one copy is needed if you teach more than one child. The book is very well done and has some great ideas to enhance your teaching and make history one of the most fun subjects in school.

I homeschool my kids so this fit the bill for information. It was brief yet to the point. We made flags on our map to follow them along the journey. It would have been nice to have a little more personal stories but would recommend for any age. I have a first and fourth grader. The activities are a bonus and were a fun art project

I teach American History to homeschool kids in upper elementary and middle school grades. This book was such a treasure. It makes our studies of Lewis and Clark so much fun and interesting. It provides interesting details and facts along with activities that are actually meaningful, as well as fun. Great book in the series. I have almost all of these "...for kids" books and all of them are wonderful. Can't go wrong if you want to make history come alive for your students.

I read this to my 7 year old son and both of us where fascinated! This book has a huge amount of information. Very well done. Follows a time line and is clear and organized well. Great level for kids. Excellent illustrations. I want the whole series now!

Outstanding text and graphics. I read this book to gain a better understanding of "The Corps of Discovery", Lewis and Clark,and their quest to find a Northwest Passage to the West. The activities, language are excellent for students studying thisexploration period in the United States.

Eve Arnold was a great photographer, but this book does her work little justice. The prints in this book are among the worst reproductions I have seen in any photography book. While the book is coffee table sized, the reproductions are largely scans of prints and typically take up no more than 50% of the area on the page. There might have been an interesting artistic reason to present the photos this way, but it all falls flat. It's hard to really engage and appreciate photos when they're presented no larger than snapshot size.

This book was a gift so I cannot give my personal review, but the receiver loved it and he is a photographer.

Lots of people recognize Eve Arnold's photography because they've seen it before, as wall art, posters or the likes. I enjoy this book because it pays equal attention to Arnold's less known works as it does her more famous shots. But it's also a 2-for-1: a history book as much as it is a collection of beautiful black and white photos. It's a sort of play-by-play of working class, minority culture in around the world (from child laborers in Long Island to Great Britain; China to Cuba) from the early 50's to late 70's. Two decades of captivating photography.Each photo has a caption to relate the story being told. Some of the photos come with proofs of Arnold's original captions. I really like the photos that recount social movements; like the telltale shots of the Non-Violence movement in the South. But despite being so informative, there's a good amount of humor in here too.This is my second in my collection of black and white photography books. Initially, I bought it after reading an introduction to Eve by Elliott Erwitt in an article online. I also own Elliott Erwitt's Personal Best which seems to follow a similar style as Arnold, although the latter takes on a more narrative approach. If you're already a fan of Arnold, this book is a must-have. And if you're a fan of one of the photog masters - Erwitt, Andre Kertesz, Jane Brown, etc.--I recommend you this book.

Eve Arnold was a pioneering female photojournalist who was well-known for being a member of the prestigious Magnum Photos. She excelled at the challenge of becoming invisible to her subjects and was able to capture her subject's intimate moments. I first became intrigued by her work when I noticed that her style was similar to the early Life Magazine photo essays that followed each subject throughout their day with series of photos that give a portrait of their life.This is a great book to commemorate her life with a comprehensive collection of Eve Arnold's work and a well-written in-depth informative bio/intro that is about nine pages long (and has been a great resource for my art history paper). Images range from her travels in America, Asia, and Europe and includes photos of famous personalities such as Malcolm X, Arthur Miller, Liz Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, etc. as well as social topics and daily life. Both black-and-white photos and color are featured in the book, and at times, they also show pics of the back of each photograph with handwritten notes/captions. It's the closest thing to a primary resource/actual photograph.One of my favorite aspects of this book is that each photograph featured has captions right under them. It makes it easier for further research of individual photographs and events. Highly recommended!

Known to many by her images rather than by her name, Eve Arnold, who died this year at age 99, was a visionary, a gifted photographic artist and photojournalist, being the first woman to be hired by Magnum Photos, that impressive organization responsible for many of the world's most memorable photographic images that capture our time an dour history. teNeues Press has published this magnificent monograph, with a superb introduction by Liz Jobey who details the important steps in Eve Arnold's life, career and artistic impact.Eve Arnold, who fell in love with photography after a boyfriend gave her a camera and who came to be regarded as a grande dame of postwar photojournalism for her bold, revealing images of subjects as diverse as Marilyn Monroe and migratory potato pickers, was a leading light in what is considered the golden age of news photography, when magazines like Life and Look commanded attention with big, arresting pictures supplied by adventurous photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Gordon Parks, Robert Capa and Margaret Bourke-White. From the New York Times the following facts are delivered: `Acclaimed for capturing celebrities in intimate moments after winning their trust, Ms. Arnold developed a particular rapport with Marilyn Monroe, the subject of a book of Arnold photographs. But other pictures, just as memorable, were of the unfamous. Among the more than 750,000 Ms. Arnold made was one taken in 1963 showing an English curate mowing a lawn, his robes tied up to keep them clear of the blades. She took pictures in a South African shantytown, a Havana brothel and a Moscow psychiatric hospital. She documented a Long Island hamlet, Miller Place, and the first minutes of a baby's life. She was an official photographer on 40 movie sets. After waiting 10 years for a visa, she visited China twice in 1979. Traveling 40,000 miles, she photographed Communist officials, Mongolian horsemen and oil drillers. The trip was chronicled in an exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum and a book, one of dozens she wrote and photographed. In 1985, Mary Blume of The International Herald Tribune wrote, "In a distinguished career, Eve Arnold has photographed Everyone with a capital `E' and also everyone." Ms. Arnold covered politics, including the Republican National Convention in 1952 and Senator Joseph R. McCarthy's investigation of suspected Communist subversion in 1954. But she earned wider note for her celebrity photos, starting in 1952 with Marlene Dietrich and her legendary legs, immortalized in a striking Arnold picture.'This handsome volume is as elegantly designed as the images it contains. Below each photograph is an explanation of the subject, the time of the image....and unspoken social comment - the most tasteful information sharing to be seen in books on famous photographers. Eve Arnold offered us so much to learn about ourselves, our world, the highs and the lows of society, the wealth and the poverty, the politically saavy and the disenfranchised. The best detailed book and diet. I started in mid-September and I lost 50 pounds in two months byThanksgiving! I am not exaggerating or lying, I have the pictures to prove it. I went at two weeks segments while following it. When I started, which I will admit, like any other diet, was difficult because you are changing your habits and following a curtailed diet and formula. You just have to be easy on yourself. By the next morning I lost two pounds. I made it nine days and lost 17 pounds! Then went off for a couple of days but still followed the book and went back on the diet, going back and forth losing weight at an even clip. The book explains everything before, during and after, with the author's story, who discovered and went through the exact same thing as you will or do. By Christmas I lost 60 pounds! That's three months. I would go off the diet when there was an event, like Thanksgiving,Christmas and New Year then go back and forth around the events. The purpose for any diet was for my daughter's wedding that coming June. I wanted to be slimmer, especially since pictures would be taken. By June I lost 80 pounds. I did not rush or worry about any crash to lose the weight, I took my time and surprisingly lost the weight rapidly. I got the hang of it and lost the most weight. It is amazing what your own body does when it gets a little help. The first thing you will notice, other than losing pounds, is "you are not hungry" once you get past the inital stage of the diet. Sleeping well and the natural energy will happen almost instant. Just remember, your mind will trick you into giving up and getting you to think this is for you, that is all of the junk luggage and sugar your body is holding. Again a great book and eating change.

My doctor recommend I use this book and I was pretty disappointed. It doesn't have a real clear diet plan and not many recipes. It has a ton of personal stories in it that I don't care about....I just want the diet plan and tips to stick to it. I only lasted one day doing the juices before I had to add some protein to it because you don't get any with what they have you do. I ate some eggs and nuts and I would cook some of the veggies instead of juicing them. I did it for seven days and loss seven pounds!

Great detox but best if you read the book first. While I am doing it for the 3rd time, each time I've done it I have had to read the book again. I agree with some of the reviews that it talks a lot about the testimony of others but for me that is paramount in making a connection for why I'm doing it. I find the testimonials to be helpful additionally because you learn that people approach it differently so when I do my rendition (though I try to do it as prescribed), I know it is okay. It helps me make it through.The biggest tip I have is to read the book first, before actually doing the detox. It helps solidify your resolve during those times, and it will happen, where you want to give up. If you make it through your program (whether 7, 14 or 21 days) you will feel and look great and be more apt to eat more healthy going forward.

Don't be fooled by the title. This is not a fad diet. This is one of the best concise and yet comprehensive guides to restructure your eating lifestyle to an alkaline diet for better overall health and wellness. I buy these books as presents for my friend to get them off of the SAD lifestyle. Following these principles can change your life.

I did this cleanse because a friend of mine recommended it and it is one of the best things I've ever done for my body. I did it for 15 days, and yes, I lost 15lbs, but more importantly than the weight I lost my body felt the best it has possibly ever felt.I've read some of the other reviews, people said it was disgusting or they were hungry all the time, and I should say that I did not follow the regimen to the letter. I bought Naked Juice instead of Martha's Vineyard's juices, I used supplements that I liked, I did a Yogic intestinal wash (Laghoo shankhaprakshalana) instead of enemas, I added a pinch of salt to soups I made that were too bitter, and I ate soups at restaurants when I went out with friends. I think in order to keep from failing you have to allow yourself some wiggle room. The end result was amazing ... my friends all said my skin was glowing, my mood improved, my energy level increased, I wanted to exercise, and I felt fantastic in my body. And when I did start eating again, everything tasted SOOO GOOD! I enjoyed food on a level I never knew was possible.If I'd followed the cleanse exactly my results could only have been better, but the way I followed it I didn't get hungry, I didn't feel deprived, it wasn't disgusting, and I still got all the benefits. I highly recommend this program to anyone wanting to improve their health, and the bonus is you'll get an improved relationship with your body and with food.

I was actually expecting to get a diet plan and recipes for green smoothies or juices, but not so. If you're expecting to learn why you need to detox, then this is book, but if you're expecting a plan of how to go about it, then this is not the book for you.

I do not like the size of this book. The print is way too small. I can't even read it with reading glasses on. I am not happy with this book. I had this book years ago and I enjoyed it. It was very helpful. This book, (not the book itself) is of no use to me, but is not worth making the trip to UPS to return it. Customers should be made aware of the tiny print before they order it. The content of the book is excellent, it's the reproduction that is terrible. (The size of the print)
